Riverside Monument

WW I Veterans' Monument

Location: At the corner of Pavillion Ave. and Scott St., adjacent to the old train station. Photo above is taken from rear of monument, with historic Zurbrugg Watch Case Factory shown in the background.

Significance - This small memorial park contains several war monuments and a small platform, apparently created for memorial ceremonies at the location. The World War I monument is one of the more unique monuments in the County because of its height and the eagle at the pinnacle.

Directions: Fairview Avenue (Route 605) and Bridgeboro St. (Rt. 613) are two of the main roads into Riverside from Route 130. They converge at Pavillion Ave. The landmark Zurbrugg Watch Case Factory is within view of the World War I monument. Entering Riverside from either Delran or Delanco along Rt. 543 (Called Saint Mihiel Drive in Delran, Warren Avenue in Delanco, but Lafayette St. in Riverside), you will come to the confluence at the Zurbrugg Watch Case Factory, again, within view of the memorial park and the World War I monument on the opposite corner.
